Pirates NES Maps

I spent a ridiculous 25 hours creating these maps from the game ROM. There is one map per time period that shows only the cities present during that time period. Please right-click and save-as rather than view these maps a hundred times on my web site.

General map without town names: full color or black and white

Period-specific maps with town names:
Years 1560 to 1599: full color or black and white
Years 1600 to 1619: full color or black and white
Years 1620 to 1639: full color or black and white
Years 1640 to 1659: full color or black and white
Years 1660 to 1679: full color or black and white
Years 1680 to 1699: full color or black and white

The information about the towns reflects the game's starting conditions at least, but it seems to change slowly over time, so as your game goes on, the town information may become less accurate. I spent a lot of time trying to determine how merchant data is determined, but it seems to be almost random and change rapidly, so I gave up.

I also made two game genie codes that make the ship sail faster on the main map. You have to use both codes at once.

OXOKPKZE and NNOKZKZE

You might not actually want my maps though, as they make finding the lost Inca treasures far too easy.
