The filter in my aquarium was stirring up the water way too much, so I designed this thing to attach to the front of it to diffuse the water's flow back into the aquarium.

The top of it is a different color just because the black filament ran out so I put in another color I'm almost out of to finish it.

It fits onto the filter like this.

It works as well as I expected it could. The filter is still moving the same amount of water but with the water not all coming out in one direction it doesn't stir up the tank as much.

I also made this new filter intake with a finer screen as I was concerned that the little fish might get stuck in the intake that came with the filter.

It's actually working better than I expected.

Before it was creating a tornado in the tank. The ghost shrimp were just trying to walk around but being blown around. The little fish kind of seemed excited that so much food was being stirred up from the floor of the tank but it too seemed to be being pushed around a lot.

Now the ghost shrimp are able to walk where they want to and the fish seems unaffected except for when it swims directly under this thing where there's a bit of a downdraft.
