Only 5 of the 12 shrimp remain alive, but the one shrimp which is still transparent is as transparent as ever. After I fixed the pH a couple of days ago, the shrimp seemed to be sorting themselves into "still healthy" and "obviously dying" so I'm not surprised that two have died in the last two days. How white-on-the-outside they are doesn't seem to be a factor in their survival though so I don't know what it could be.
Wanting something to hold the plants more vertical, and somewhat bothered by how the guppy likes to hang out in the largest open space in the aquarium, I decided to put some platforms there to fill it in, so I made these things I can put on some bamboo skewers and fill with gravel, and then it occurred to me that I have all of these little bits of plant that I pulled off of mostly dead plants, so I put them on the platforms too.
The guppy seems to be responding by hanging out on the other side of the tank. Hopefully they'll get some use by the shrimp which I sometimes see hanging out on top of plants or the side of the tank when I presume they get tired of being on the bottom.
