After a sunny day last week caused an explosion of algae growth, I needed a tool to remove algae from the tank. It occurred to me yesterday that I needed a glass scraper. So I 3D printed a thing that holds a razor blade and attaches to a glass rod.

I was a bit worried that I might cut one of the animals at first, but it occurred to me that in use the blade is always going to be against the glass and so the risk of anything swimming up to it and being injured seems minimal.

With the glass clean, I tried to make some cool videos, but didn't really get anything interesting. So here's a ghost shrimp pooping. (actually the first time I've seen it happen)

...and here's one folding itself in half. I have no idea why they do this.

I really should take 30 seconds to comment out the code that adds the date and time stamp. I'm using a program I wrote to record surveillance cameras.
